Membership Meeting

The Association’s Regular Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Elections will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 beginning at 9:00 AM at the YO Ranch Resort,2033 Sidney Baker, Kerrville, Texas 78028. The meeting is open to all Association members and guests at no charge.

The last major revision of the TCHA Bylaws was the 2007 version. The Association and its mission have grown and changed since then, and the Board of Directors is proposing a restatement, the 2015 Bylaws. Association members will be called on to vote for this action at this meeting.

All members are encouraged to attend. Safeguarding our right to keep and bear arms and concealed carry is dependent upon the interest and support of everyday citizens. Support your Association. Make plans today to attend the Seventeenth Annual Conference of the Texas Concealed Handgun Association.

We will be raffling off a firearm at this meeting.

Banquet

Our keynote speaker is retired Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson. He will highlight the Saturday evening banquet.

Lodging

The YO Ranch Resort, 2033 Sidney Baker, Kerrville, Texas 78028, will reserve rooms for members. Contact the hotel at (877) 967-3767 orreservations@yoranchhotel.com before February 14 (extended deadline) and tell them you’re with TCHA. The TCHA special rate is $84.00 per night plus taxes for two queen beds or one king bed. Reservations made after that date will be at the then current rates and based on availability.

Speakers

TCHA is continuing to offer education during the eighteenth Annual Conference. We will offer continuing education to instructors and non- instructors alike. This is the start of a program designed to improve the knowledge and skills of CHL holders. The goal of this program is to set a standard of excellence that may become the normal requirement within the CHL community. Several courses will be offered:

  1. Current Issues-A Panel Discussion, Bobby Clakley, Bill Titus, Larry Arnold and Susie Tackett
  2. Combat Mind Set, Sheriff Jim Wilson
  3. Tactical Medicine, Austin Davis
  4. The Question: To Shoot or Not to Shoot, From the arrest to the grand jury decision (interactive event), Featuring Austin Davis and Virtual Tactical Academy

Each student who completes a course will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students who complete enough courses will receive an Intermediate or Advanced CHL Certificate from TCHA. The certificates will be awarded at the convention’s Saturday Night Dinner.

How can you afford to miss this opportunity?

The lunch speaker Saturday will be Sherrie Zgabay from Department of Public Safety, and a representative of Texas Law Shield

Firearm Simulator

You’ll again be able to test your self-defense/gun handling skills in a laser Firearm Simulator, which will be open all during the conference. There will be no charge, but we will be accepting donations.

Fun Shoot and Demonstrations

Once again we are planning a Fun Shoot at the Hill Country Shooting Sports Center. Bring your favorite sidearm and plenty of ammo. Be prepared for lots of target and action shooting at this Olympic facility. A concealed carry holster will be handy, but is not required.

The Fun Shoot will feature contests and training. While all CHLs will benefit, instructors should be particularly interested in seeing techniques they can use in their own classes.
